The MCW Oboe - Full French Conservatory System
HANDCRAFTED EXCELLENCE
FOR THE SERIOUS MUSICIAN
Modified Conservatory System
THE BODY
Selected Mozambique Grenadilla wood is carefully seasoned to make an instrument with exacting internal dimensions and superior tonal stability. All joints have metal sockets and metal tenon rings for added strength and security.
THE MECHANISM
All keys are made from nickel silver. Keys and posts are heavily silver-plated and are specially treated to prevent corrosion. A combination of cork and skin pads are carefully seated onto the MCW oboe to make an instrument with a truly professional mechanical feel and air tight vacuum.
THE FEATURES
The MCW oboe is available in a full French Conservatory system and a modified Conservatory system. In addition to the most commonly used conservatory fingerings and trills, the modified MCW oboes also have as standard features:
- Left Hand F
- Articulated C#
- Fork F Resonance
- Low B-flat Bell Resonance
THE TUNING
Each MCW oboe is hand tuned to play at A-440 using an American scrape reed. The bore is finished to very exact dimensions and individual tone holes are undercut to produce an instrument with subtle variation of response and tone color.
THE ACCESSORIES
The MCW oboe comes complete in a sturdy plush-lined case with reed box, swab, polishing cloth, Humistat, and cork grease.
THE GUARANTEE
MARK CHUDNOW WOODWINDS will fix any mechanical defects or defects in the wood (including crack repair) without charge for two years from date of purchase. Damage caused from negligence or abuse is not covered. Shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
